As a classical musician and game designer, my goal is to solve problems while making music experiences fun!
For you music nerds out there like me, read on about the kinds of challenges this game solves!
Issue #1: We can’t improve our practice if we don’t know how we’re spending our time.
Knowledge is power! But we’re also human, and logging our practice isn’t always our favorite activity… This game system makes it fun and rewarding to keep track of your practice time and content!
Issue #2: We never feel like we’re practicing enough (or perpetually feel behind) so we don’t recognize the time we’re investing in our craft.
Say we’re aiming for 10 hours of practice a week but only practice 8 hours. We’re hard-wired to look for what needs to be improved and we’ll be disappointed in ourselves. But hang on a minute… There’s another option. We invested 8 HOURS of our time into improving as a musician! We can recognize that as an incredible amount of time invested in ourselves! As you update your Adventure Tracker, you’ll see how your total practice time skyrockets. Then watch how your confidence does the same!
Issue #3: We’re always looking towards what we’re doing next and skip celebrating ourselves.
With The Musician’s Adventure, we take recognizing practice and progress one step further. We CELEBRATE ourselves with 9 possible Monthly Milestones and Rewards!
As you complete your Practice Log each week and update your Adventure Tracker, you’ll clearly see how you are progressing towards your monthly practice milestones. And each time you reach a milestone, you’ve earned a reward of your choice!
Issue #4: We’re lost on our practice journey and don’t know where we’re going or where to start each day.
Have you ever looked at your music and felt clueless or overwhelmed? It’s not a fun feeling. This practice log makes it easy to never feel this way again. Each log includes 4 core areas of our practice: Tone, technique, etudes, and music/repertoire.
